Friends Home and Village (FHV), a retirement community on two campuses, providing independent living and personal care, has been a part of the Newtown community for almost 120 years.

Friends Home Campus

The center of activities at the Friends Home Campus is Paxson Hall, named for its founder, Judge Edward M. Paxson.  This dignified, century-old stone building is home to personal care residents offering unique private rooms - no two are alike.

Independent living residents at the Friends Home Campus enjoy a variety of apartment styles: studios, one, and two bedrooms.  Residents can choose among apartments in renovated Victorian homes, a converted carriage house, or one-story cottages.

Friends Village Campus

In 1981, the historic Styer farmhouse on Lower Dolington Road was converted to serve as the core of the Friends Village Campus, housing the dining room, recreation room, and a number of social areas.

The Friends Village community offers a variety of independent living units, including studios, one bedroom, two bedroom, two bedroom deluxe, and private rooms in the West Wing.
